This seems to be a slow move, with things not getting set up as quickly as usual. Mind you, I’ve never moved with children before, either. We are into the last little push of getting things done before we move in next Monday. Bathroom fixtures are all in place (just waiting on the mirrors, which should be installed tomorrow), the kitchen appliances are being installed (with temporary countertops and a small kitchen sink have being put into place until the real [ READ MORE ]

The passage doors have all been hung in the house, and while I did decide to keep and paint out the original hollow-core mahogany doors in the interest of saving some money, I’m quite pleased with how they look and I do quite like the egg-shaped doorknobs I picked out. We’ve hit a minor glitch – for some reason too much cork and not enough hardwood was delivered with the shipment. So the last two feet in front of the living room window is waiting to be finished when the remaining hardwood arrives next week[ READ MORE ]

The tilers weren’t at the house today, so I presume they’ll be back tomorrow to do the bathroom floors and tub surround. Painting is coming along nicely (the painter had a good chuckle when Izzy walked into her bedroom and proclaimed it “so beautiful”).
